ABSTRACT
A new internal energy relaxation model, four-temperature model for diatomic gas, is proposed and included in the gas-kinetic BGK scheme. The improved numerical method is then applied in the simulation of one-dimensional shock structure of nitrogen gas. The effect of the total energy conservation constraint of the relaxation model is discussed.
