ABSTRACT
The article profiles several companies and organizations that participate in the carbon offset market, in which a buyer calculates his or her carbon footprint and then donates money to an association to cancel the amount of harmful emissions that person was responsible for. The company Native Energy based in Vermont has helped build more than 30 clean energy projects such as the Kansas's Greensburg Wind Farm. The TerraPass organization and The Climate Trust organization are discussed.
