Study: Clunkers program won't steal future sales

The article reports that according to a study by Maritz Automotive Research Group, last year's cash-for-clunkers program in the U.S. has increased sales without damaging the number of future automobile purchases, as previously feared by critics. Maritz has found out that about 542,000 consumers have bought vehicles during July and August 2009 specifically because of the program. The study also said that the program also met its objective of creating jobs.
