ABSTRACT
The article discusses the role of social media in driving parks and recreation marketing communications. Social media is defined by book author Brian Solis as a shift in how people discover, read, and share news and information content. Popular in the community are the social media vehicles of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and blogging, according to the author. The goal of using social media is to use it as bridge to lead people across to the website. Daily contact with park and recreation users is cited as the biggest benefit of social media.
