ABSTRACT
The article presents an outlook for the missile defense industry in relation to the increasing proliferation of threats around the world. Among the area defense and regional protection systems that dominate the market are the Patriot/PAC-3, multi-national Medium Extended Air Defense System and the Aegis/SM-3 defensive system. The decision of the U.S. Department of Defense to shift its strategy to protect Europe from an Iranian missile attack is cited as an indicator of the direction for the industry.
