ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the possibility of generating renewable energy in the Middle East. The author points out that the deserts in the region could be used to generate solar energy. He also mentions the DESERTEC Industrial Initiative, which aims to examine and develop a framework for carbon-free power generation in the deserts. He further emphasizes that this means that the region will still play a key role in the energy sector in the future.
