ABSTRACT
The article reports that U.S. Senator Bernard Sanders has introduced the non-tax employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) bills S.2909 which encourages employee ownership and participation in business decision making and S.2914 which establishes a Federal lending program for some ESOPs and employee-owned cooperatives in the U.S. Department of Treasury. S.2909 was first filed in the Senate during late 1980s by Senator Jeff Bingaman while S.2914 was filed in 2004 by Senator Sanders.
