ABSTRACT
The article reports on a research which indicates that soy supplements do not benefit bone health in women. A 24-month, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was carried out to evaluate the effects of the daily intake of 80 or 120 mg of soy hypocotyl aglycone isoflavones with calcium and vitamin D on bone changes in 403 women. It is inferred that soy was not yet proven to prevent osteoporosis even though it manifested some evidence in bone loss protection.
