ABSTRACT
The article presents the views of six U.S. state legislative leaders about their states' fiscal outlook in the aftermath of the 2009 global economic crisis. State legislators believe that despite some signs of an improving economy, they would only experience a significant fiscal recovery by 2011 or 2012. While most of them said the stimulus package passed by U.S. President Barack Obama's administration had helped states at least temporarily, they added that the Federal government should interfere as little as possible with state fiscal policies.
