ABSTRACT
The article summarizes various reports and studies on renewable energy and the environment published in various periodicals in 2009. A case study featured in "Applied Energy" examined the effects of community lift irrigation adopted in India on agricultural productivity, food security and biofuel crops. "Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews" published an article that compared the funding of rural renewable energy in China and India. Researcher P. Purohit has explored the carbon dioxide mitigation of solar home systems (SHSs) in India.
