ABSTRACT
The article profiles Sheriff Arvin West of Hudspeth County, Texas in his duties being a border sheriff. It notes that 98% of what he deals is more on drug trafficking. West established the Texas Border Sheriff's Coalition in which he chairs help addressed the debates over border security and immigration reform. Moreover, Hudspeth County became known after what happened in January 2006 when West and his men faced off with the members of the Mexican Army carrying bundles of marijuana.
