ABSTRACT
The article reports on the survey of "Food Manufacture" and Mintec Inc. on the status of sugar prices worldwide. Result shows that the global prices of sugar keep rising due to poor monsoon rains and volatile crude oil prices, while high global prices and tight supply resulted to early sugar cane crushing in many producing countries. Moreover, crude oil prices influences prices of other commodities, raising the demand from the biofuel industry for feedstocks.
