ABSTRACT
The article reports on the study conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the need for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to increase victims' awareness of the Crime Victims' Rights Act (CVRA) and the clarification of its applicability to the District of Columbia. It states that DOJ and the federal judiciary have revised internal guidelines so the CVRA could be implemented. It notes that there are mixed perceptions regarding the effect and efficacy of the CVRA implementation.
