ABSTRACT
The author reflects on novelists and poets getting bailouts from banks after being broke in Great Britain. He mentions that it will only be a matter of time for banks to bail out novelists and poets if the government has started earlier to bail out banks in 2008. He states that the prime minister would have been writing checks, pay off debts, and buy foreign rights if the government has just called. He argues that their jobs as writers are no worse than those of bankers.
