ABSTRACT
The article examines the sources of estimates on health care expenditures and health insurance coverage in the U.S. The National Health Expenditure Accounts (NHEA) are prepared by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and its most recent estimates are for 2007, released in January 2009. The Annual Social and Economic Supplement to the Current Population Survey, National Health Interview Survey and American Consumer Survey are some sources of health insurance coverage estimates.
