ABSTRACT
The article reports that U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman has introduced the Graduation Promise Act (GPA) that would provide federal funds for stressed high schools. It would authorize for the first time a 2.44 billion dollars of competitive grant program to struggling high schools to develop partnerships with local communities, education experts, businesses, and parents to implement dropout prevention initiatives.
