ABSTRACT
The article forecasts the economic conditions and monetary policies in India. As the increasing inflation rate tests the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI's) ability to keep interest rates on hold, it is projected that central bankers will face a niggling policy in the months ahead. It is expected that the interest rate will not be changed by more than 100 basis points, which would take the repo rate to 5.50% by the end of 2010.
