ABSTRACT
The article discusses a perceived pattern of arrests, intimidation and murder of Muslims by Indian police under the banner of anti-terrorism. The government, it says, sees terror activities in India as backed by the Pakistani Army. Therefore Muslim men, particularly members of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) are arrested in response to bombings. Confessions are obtained under duress and conspiracy theories encouraged, with the cooperation of the Indian news media.
