ABSTRACT
The article deals with the use of expert testimony in class-certification decisions in the U.S. Based on the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, district courts are required to determine early on in a putative class action whether to certify the proposed class. Among the factors that the proponent of a putative class must implement as a prerequisite for class certification include numerosity, commonality and typicality.
