ABSTRACT
The authors examined new product development (NPD) practices at a firm facing highly uncertain and rapidly changing market conditions. They conducted in-depth interviews of managers who had managed both successful and unsuccessful new products in order to identify best practices for facilitating the entry of new products into changing markets quickly, efficiently, and effectively. The resulting five practices provide one potential model for NPD in other firms facing similar market and technological conditions.
