ABSTRACT
The article discusses the state habeas proceedings and federal petition for writ of habeas corpus in the U.S. It says that the standard for habeas corpus review significantly restricts the habeas court's ability to rectify blatant incidents of jury prejudice. Meanwhile, prisoners can seek a writ of habeas corpus to challenge the legality of his conviction when they believe that their confinement violates a constitutionally protected right.
