ABSTRACT
The author relates how she implemented digital literacy skills into her reading and writing classroom. She provides a background of digital communication and emphasizes the role of education in preparing students for a global society that communicates synchronously through a digital medium. She describes how she developed her class Web page. She discusses the response of her students to the class blog she set up through David Warlick's Landmark Project at http://classblogmeister.com. She outlines how she used technology to assess student writing in the digital realm.
