Puerto Rico presses for more ARRA funding

The article reports that local government officials in Puerto Rico have been submitting proposals for competitive funding opportunities under the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. The island has about 182 proposals seeking 422 million dollars. It has received approvals for 15 competitive applications worth more than 11 million dollars. An additional 24 million dollars in transportation funding is also sought by the government.
