ABSTRACT
The article reports on the approval of a bill aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emission by 80% in New York. Governor David Paterson inked an executive order that creates a commission that will draft a plan to meet greenhouse gas emission benchmark by September 2010. The said mandate will expand the New York Power Authority's (NYPA) power to finance energy-efficiency and green-building projects for any public buildings, as well as its private economic development customers.
