ABSTRACT
The article presents the forecast of the Turkish economy for the second quarter of 2009 from Business Monitor International (BMI) Ltd. Accordingly, the BMI has revised downward its real gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast from -5.7% to -6.2%, considering the 13.8% contraction in the first quarter. However, the BMI says that the country's economy will be among those economies in the emerging Europe which are in best-positioned for recovery as the global credit market stabilizes in 2010.
