ABSTRACT
The article presents facts about online social networking. The author stresses that the use of such sites spans generations, noting a Pew Internet and American Life Project surveys which found that the number of adults with a social networking site profile has increased from 8% in 2005 to 35% in December 2008. She offers tips for U.S. politicians on using such sites for their campaign and programs. She notes the importance of considering privacy policies and terms of service of agreements in social networking sites.
