ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the "Exceptions Process" passed by the U.S. Congress, in the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, to beneficiary coverage limits reintroduced by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Exceptions to requested therapy can be granted for diagnosis and procedures that are directly related to the condition, or particular evaluation services.
