ABSTRACT
The article presents an argument in favor of emergency contraceptives. It is the author's opinion that emergency contraceptives should be readily available as a means of reducing rates of unwanted pregnancies and abortions. Reproductive politics, historical access to birth control, and the importance of over-the-counter access to emergency contraceptives are discussed. The author argues that pregnancy rates in other countries have not increased with expanded access to emergency contraceptives.
