'Bang' : Guns, rap, and silence

Nordlinger, Jay

National Review;4/16/2001, Vol. 53 Issue 7, p37
This article focuses on the connection between gun violence and rap music in the United States. It's easy to look away from rap music and its nature. But it should not be so, and it surely shouldn't be so for gun-controllers. Most people are less familiar with rap's celebration of the gun. The U.S. is engaged in a great debate over gun control. The inner cities are the centre of gun crime. A group called the Campus Alliance to End Gun Violence says that gun violence disproportionately preys on the young persons.
