ABSTRACT
The article looks at the response of public and private investment sectors to the tough economic times by turning on options that provide efficiently produced electricity at reasonable capital costs. According to the article, some public and private capital have transitioned to renewable generation options during the past years. It mentions coal as a necessary and cost-effective long-term option particularly once pre-combustion clean coal technologies are released in the market.
