ABSTRACT
The article reports on the net loss posted by TiVo Inc. for the first quarter ended April 30, 2009. The company's net loss of $4.1 million is attributed to the economic recession, which negatively affected consumer electronics (CE) sales. The company has partnered with Blockbuster and Comcast to sell digital video recorder (DVR) units and to provide an exclusive DVR service, respectively. The net revenue of TiVo for the period totaled $54.8 million.
