ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs related to the U.S. Congress. The House Appropriations Committee on May 7, 2009 approved by voice vote a supplemental spending bill that funds the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The administration of U.S. President Barack Obama on May 7, 2009 sent the details of its fiscal 2010 budget to the U.S. Congress on May 7. The Senate has passed the legislation increasing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.'s borrowing authority and extending deposit insurance coverage for four more years.
