ABSTRACT
The article reports on the support of some notable people in Texas on the appointment of Tom Vilsack by U.S. President Barack Obama as Secretary of Department of Agriculture in 2009. Kenneth Dierschke, president of Texas Farm Bureau (TFB), said that the organization is optimistic on the appointment of Vilsack for the post. Steve Pringle, legislative director of TFB, believes that the secretary will show support to the state's agriculture. He also stressed that the implementation of Farm Bill will be a significant first step for Vilsack.
