ABSTRACT
This section offers news briefs concerning the mining industry in the U.S. A legislation titled the Hardrock Mining and Reclamation Act of 2009 was introduced by House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Nick Rahall. The $787 billion economic stimulus package signed by President Barack Obama allots $3.4 billion for the development of advanced clean coal technologies. U.S. is one of the best countries for investing in the mining industry, according to an annual survey by Behre Dolbear Group.
