ABSTRACT
The article reflects on the roles libraries and librarians play in the society. The author notes how the emergence of computing has heavily impacted library service as supported by research from the Information Institute on public libraries and the Internet. She asserts the fact that the Internet is embedded into the daily lives of people with more and more being accustomed to the use of search engines. The only thing neglected by these people is considering the library as an information resource online.
