Carbon Food Print

The article offers information on the carbon food print in the U.S. It is noted that about a quarter of the average annual carbon dioxide footprint of families in the U.S. comes from food. Engineers at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania found that although people typically transport comestibles long distances, the bulk of greenhouse gases are created during the production phase. Red meat and dairy products are said to be the biggest source of carbon emission.
