Construction to begin on a large solar plant in Spain

The article focuses on the construction of the Gemasolar plant in Fuentes de Andalucia, Spain. The plant will produce 17 Megawatts Electric (MWe) of power to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 50,000 metric tons per year (m.t./yr). It will track the sun and focus sunlight to a receiver at the top of a tower. It is expected to be operational in 2011.
