ABSTRACT
This article reports on AIDS activist and denialist Christine Maggiore. Maggiore was an HIV-positive mother of two who did not believe that HIV caused AIDS and therefore refused to take antiretroviral medications or have her children tested for the virus. The article describes Maggiore's board membership at the Rethinking AIDS denialist organization and her relationship with its president, David Crowe. The article also discusses Maggiore's death in December 2008, noting that no autopsy was performed to see if her pneumonia was AIDS-related. Information is also provided on the death of Maggiore's three-year-old daughter due to HIV-related pneumonia.
