ABSTRACT
The article reports on a 49% increase in carbon offsetting prices. Between 2006 and 2007, the offsetting price for a ton of carbon dioxide surged to £3.05 from £2.05, while others charge up to $pound;150 per ton. EDF Energy stated that the average small to medium enterprise (SMEs) produces approximately 6 tons of carbon dioxide, translating to between £18.30 and £900 in offsetting costs.
