The article reports on the failure of Toyota Motor Corp., Thailand's to car maker, to lead in the domestic pickup truck market in September 2008 to its long-time rival Isuzu Motors Ltd. The company suggests the importance to stay ahead in the pickup segment as it accounts for more than of local car sales in the country. Accordingly, it found that the slowdown lies in the overdependence on the pickup trucks as well as failure to seriously develop an alternative mass market model.
