ABSTRACT
This article reports on the creation of a Gay Village neighborhood icon for the main page of a popular tourism and advertising web site, which is being led by lesbian Ottawa Kiosk staffer Bonnie McDougall in Ottawa, Ontario. The new icon will join other established business areas in Ottawa. According to Village activist Glenn Crawford, this move sends a message to the Bank Street Business Improvement Association.
