ABSTRACT
The article discusses the status of sexual abstinence and sexual education programs in U.S. schools in 2008. The federal funds for abstinence education supported by U.S. President George W. Bush have been cut. The impacts of these cuts for abstinence education programs including Virginity Rules, the East Texas Abstinence Program, are discussed. Additionally the merits of these programs are evaluated, and the impact the 2008 presidential election will have on these programs is offered.
