ABSTRACT
The article offers guide to grid-tied solar money management. It is important to calculate the payback period of a potential system before a decision about solar system is made. The payback period for the solar system depends on a number of variables, including a home's solar access, the size of the system, available rebates and the price of electricity. In winter, the average home's daily photovoltaic (PV) production is about 3.8 kilowatt per hour (kWh), which corresponds to 688 kWh over 181 days of winter.
