ABSTRACT
The article discusses the implications of the Australian government's planned Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme and the Garnaut Report on the nursery and garden industry in the region in 2008. It is stated that the horticulture industry could provide information on adaptation to climate change, as well as the slowing down of its effects. The issue on mitigation covers the control of carbon emissions of vehicles and power stations that use coal. Prices of electricity, fuel, and fertilizers would result from the scheme, said the author.
