ABSTRACT
The article reports that authorities in Israel are dealing with increased violence as a result of new settlement construction projects. The violence has increased, but it is still much lower than it had been during the intifada in 2000. These relatively peaceful conditions have given Israelis more confidence in expanding their settlements, which is causing more violence. Many people believe the U.S. should get involved as a third party for peace talks.
