ABSTRACT
The article discusses the verification process to check the employees' immigration status. E-verify, originally known as the Employment Eligibility Verification Program, has been a useful, but scarcely used tool for public and private sector employers to check the immigration status of new hires. The program faced many obstructions in recent years yet U.S. President George W. Bush signed an executive order requiring federal contractors to vet all new employees through the system.
