The article reports on the participation of several high street brands in Great Britain, including Apple, Selfridges and Waitrose, in a virtual mall called MyMall. The site enables brands to have virtual storefronts that link through to transactional sites. In addition, it is looking to integrate a three-dimensional social network into the site, thus allowing shoppers to recommend products to others in order to gain commission on items sold. Ishmael Bahadur, chief executive officer (CEO) of MyMall, notes that MyMall provides brands an alternative to Google or price-comparison sites.
