ABSTRACT
The article discusses the cost and benefits of ethanol as a gasoline fuel additive in the U.S. It tells that ethanol is a renewable energy derived from corn that has lower greenhouse-gas emissions. It adds that greater use of ethanol would lower the demand for imported fuel products but ethanol production remains low despite the federal mandate to increase its production and the tax incentives to ethanol producers.
