ABSTRACT
The article reports on the suggestion of Plainfield Township manager Robert Homan regarding the standardization of property tax abatement policies across the region in Michigan. Public Act 198 abatements reportedly allows communities to excuse some taxes on real property and equipment for industrial firms that locate or expand in the community. According to the article, the Township Board approved tax abatements for KB Stamping and Couturier Iron Craft.
