ABSTRACT
The article discusses offshore oil and gas exploration and development operations in Europe. According to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate a rig shortage has constrained drilling activity. Also, Shell has put onstream two fields in the U.K. southern gas basin including Caravan and Shamrock and Dana Petroleum has received government approval to develop Babbage field. Chevron is reviewing various polymer options for enhanced oil recovery at the Captain heavy-oil field in the U.K. central North Sea.
